Dental Hygienist

"Best hygienist experience I've ever had." - David B.

Preventing Disease. Enhancing Aesthetics.

More Than Just a "Clean & Polish"

Many people think a hygiene appointment is just a quick "scrape and polish." At Smile Dentist, we treat hygiene as a medical necessity delivered with a luxury touch. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults—and it is entirely preventable.

Cancer Screening

We check your tongue, cheeks, and lips for early warning signs.

Gum Health Map

We measure pockets to detect early signs of Gingivitis or Periodontitis.

Ultrasonic Scaling

Using vibration (not force) to remove hard tartar that brushing can't shift.

Airflow® Polish

A jet of water and fine powder to blast away stains instantly.

Pain-Free Stain Removal

The "Airflow" Difference

Ditch the scraping. Airflow Tooth Polishing is a revolutionary Swiss technology that cleans your teeth using a mix of warmed water, air, and fine powder.

  • It’s Gentle

Ideal for patients with sensitive teeth.

  • It’s Deep

Reaches nooks and crannies brushes miss.

  • It’s Brightening

Removes stains instantly, making teeth look whiter.

"If you are thinking of Whitening your teeth, ALWAYS book an Airflow Hygiene session first. It clears the debris so the whitening gel can work effectively."

Restoring a Chipped Front Tooth

A patient attended our clinic for an emergency appointment after chipping her upper left front tooth. Fortunately, the tooth was not painful or sensitive, but the chip significantly affected the appearance of her smile.

Transforming Discoloured & Chipped Teeth

The patient attended a consultation unhappy with the appearance of her upper front teeth. Her upper right central incisor (UR1) was noticeably discoloured, and both central incisors had small chips affecting the overall aesthetics of her smile. She explained that she had fallen on her teeth when she was younger, which pushed the UR1 slightly backwards. Over time, the tooth became non-vital and eventually required root canal treatment. Although the tooth was symptomless, it still appeared darker than the neighbouring teeth.
