What's Included in the £395 Per-Tooth Fee

Every composite bonding appointment at Smile Dentist London is carried out by a GDC-registered dentist and includes the following — the per-tooth fee covers all of the below.

Shade selection with your involvement

Using a shade guide and natural light, we agree the target shade together — either to blend with your existing teeth or as part of a lighter overall result if you are also whitening.

Gentle, minimally invasive preparation

For most cases the natural tooth surface is lightly etched rather than drilled. No anaesthetic is usually required, though local anaesthetic can be given if you prefer.

Hand-layered composite resin

High-aesthetic dental composite is layered onto the tooth and sculpted by your dentist to rebuild chips, close small gaps, lengthen worn edges or refine the shape — one tooth at a time, with light-curing between layers.

Bite check & adjustment

The way the bonded teeth meet your opposing teeth is carefully checked and adjusted to make sure the bonding is comfortable to bite, chew and speak with.

Final polishing

A series of polishing steps creates a smooth, natural-looking surface that blends with your enamel and resists day-to-day staining as well as composite material allows.

Written aftercare & follow-up review

You receive written aftercare guidance and, where clinically appropriate, a short follow-up review to check the bonding has settled and to re-polish if needed.

Bonding is often suitable for

  • Small chips on front teeth
  • Closing small spaces between teeth
  • Lengthening or evening up worn edges
  • Refining the shape of pointed or short teeth
  • Masking small areas of discolouration on individual teeth
  • A reversible or low-impact first step before considering veneers

Bonding may not be the best option when

  • Underlying decay or active gum disease is present — these are treated first
  • A tooth is significantly broken down or has had a root-canal — a crown or onlay may be more appropriate
  • You grind your teeth heavily — bonding can chip more readily without a night guard
  • Large colour changes are wanted — whitening first may give a better starting shade
  • Very large shape changes are wanted — porcelain veneers may be more predictable long-term

The right choice always depends on a clinical assessment by your dentist, who will explain the realistic options and risks for your individual situation before any treatment is agreed.
