Dental Bridge

Having missing teeth can negatively impact your confidence and life — not to mention your health. Being without a full set of teeth often leads to further problems, such as, crooked teeth, gum disease, and tooth decay. Fortunately, a dental bridge offers an effective, durable and natural-looking solution.

Traditional bridge

The two teeth on either side of the gap are reinforced with crowns, which hold the replacement false tooth in place.

Maryland bridge

A Maryland bridge consists of a false tooth attached to strong metal wings; these wings are bonded to the backs of the neighboring teeth either side of the gap. This restoration isn’t quite as strong as a traditional bridge, so you may find it occasionally needs reattaching.

Cantilever bridge

A cantilever bridge is used when there’s neighbouring teeth on only one side of the missing tooth. They provide enough strength for the front teeth, but aren’t so good in the back of the mouth which requires something stronger.

What does treatment involve?

Your first step towards your smile restoration is your initial consultation with us. You’ll meet with one of our experienced dentists to discuss your case and plan your treatment.

At your first appointment, we’ll take impressions of your teeth to help craft your bridge. If you’ve chosen to have a traditional bridge, we’ll create room for the crowns by gently filing down the two teeth neighbouring the gap. You’ll be given a temporary bridge to wear in the meantime to protect your teeth and gums.

Our skilled technicians will custom-make your bridge using ceramic or porcelain which offers strength, beauty, and longevity. We won’t fit the bridge until you’re completely happy with it.

Once fitted, your new smile will look and feel great! It will fit in perfectly with the rest of your teeth, fix your bite, and repair your smile. You may even choose to enhance your smile even more with additional teeth whitening, bonding, or veneers.

Dental bridges are very long-lasting; take good care of them and they can last for 10-15 years.

How much does a dental bridge cost?

The price of a dental bridge starts at £750.

Please visit Smile Dentist for consultation. Together we’ll plan the perfect treatment to restore your smile. You’ll be provided with details of the full cost, as well as information on our affordable payment plans.
