Dental Crown

Do you have worn, chipped, or damaged teeth? Smile Dentist provides beautiful dental crowns to restore the appearance, function and health of your smile. Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps designed to fit over the top of unhealthy teeth. They look realistic — just like natural teeth — and function to strengthen teeth and prevent future deterioration.

Dental crowns are best used to treat moderate or severe damage in the form of decay or injury. In mild cases, a simple filling or bonding treatment may be all that’s needed. Your experienced dentist will recommend the easiest, least-invasive solution to repair your smile.

We use high-quality porcelain or ceramic to craft our dental crowns — these materials are best for strength, beauty and longevity.

Benefits of dental crowns

  • Restores weak or injured teeth
  • Durable and longlasting
  • Natural looking
  • Strengthens teeth after root canals
  • Fills large cavities
  • Covers dental implants

What does fitting a dental crown involve?

Your treatment will be completed over two appointments

Step 1: Your dentist will examine your teeth and remove any decay. The damaged tooth will then be filed down to accommodate the new crown.

Step 2: We’ll take impressions of your teeth, which our skilled dental technicians will use to make your replacement crown. It will be designed to fit and match the rest of your teeth in shape and colour. You’ll be given a temporary crown to wear home in the meantime.

Step 3: About one to two weeks later, your permanent crown will be ready to fit. Only once you’re happy with how the crown looks will we bond it to your tooth.

With good care and attention, your crown can last for many years.

How much do dental crowns cost?
